The asymmetrical stainless steel case, the stepped black dial and the anodised aluminium bezel with its famous dot over the 90 are drawn directly from the fourth-generation Speedmaster that made the journey. Every proportion is deliberate, every line inherited.
Calibre 3861 — Master Chronometer
At its heart beats the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, a hand-wound chronograph movement certified by METAS to the highest standard in Swiss watchmaking. It resists magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss — a level that would stop a conventional movement outright.
The free-sprung balance carries a silicon balance spring, while the rhodium-plated finish and straight Côtes de Genève on the bridges reward every look through the sapphire caseback. A 50-hour power reserve runs at 3 Hz.
The Stepped Black Dial
The stepped black dial is a study in legibility under pressure. The applied OMEGA logo, the small seconds sub-dial, the 30-minute and 12-hour counters and the central chronograph hand each occupy their own space without ever crowding the eye.
The tachymetric scale on the bezel allows speed to be read directly from the wrist, and the luminous hands and indexes hold their charge in low light — a detail that mattered far more in orbit than on land.
Bracelet & Clasp
The brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet tapers toward a comfort-fit clasp, balancing the weight of the case across the wrist. The finishing alternates between satin surfaces and mirrored edges, catching light exactly where it should.
The clasp opens and closes with the reassuring precision that defines the piece as a whole — engineered to be worn every day, not stored away.
